Korea Travel Guide and Cheap Flights to Korea

Incheon Airport Seoul

South Korea, located at the extreme east of Asia is one of the world’s most attractive tourist destinations and business hubs. Tourism in South Korea has boomed, owing to the ease of access given the plethora of travel options to this beautiful country. Korean cities are well connected to the rest of the world, especially to important Asian cities.

South Korea is primarily reached by air. It has several international airports, the largest one being Incheon International Airport close to the capital city of Seoul. Seoul has another airport, an older one, Gimpo International Airport that has extensive domestic connectivity, charter flights and limited international connectivity to neighboring countries. Other major international airports in Korea are in Jeju and Busan. Jeju is primarily a tourist spot and Busan is a smaller business centre. Both these airports are serviced by low-cost airlines to nearby Asian airports and a few major airlines fly in.

Travel to Korea is extremely convenient given the easy availability of hotels and helpful tourist services. It is idyllic for both summer travel to the beaches or winter ski trips. While the weather greatly varies over the year, it is definitely not extreme!

Major cities of South Korea feature prominent hotels that are also the expensive ones. Apart from them, visitors, tourists and business visitors alike, have a whole host of other stay options; from airport hotels to suites and even corporate housing. Hotels are best booked online and well in advance, especially if you choose to stay in independent hotels in smaller towns. This is mainly because there might be communication errors given the relative non-prevalence of English around the country.

Hotels can be booked separately at your will but airlines such as Korean Air and Asiana Airlines have links with prominent hotels in major cities through their loyalty programs and the like. These offers can be availed at the time of booking your ticket. Most of the time, they also include transfers and in some cases local tours or car rentals. These offers are usually only on international inbound flights and in some cases they entitle you to better in-flight services such as Business or First Class upgrades. Check those out carefully; you might find some great deals!

In addition to commercial travel, there are several charter and private flight operators available. These would be primarily for business travelers on a time constrained schedule or visitor on an extremely luxurious tour! Charter flights have to be booked beforehand and it’s best to act as “fillers” in charter jets that have some seats vacant. This will cost you less and in most cases just as much as business class travels. Incheon International Airport is where all the charter jets work from and most brokerages and services have offices around there.

South Korea is a great place to visit and at the moment is on its way to the top in the economic sphere of the world. By being a little careful, you can make your trip a memory to cherish forever!
