Cheap flights South Korea

Cheap Flight

South Korea has several airlines flying among all its major airports and international airlines flying to and from almost all continents. In addition to regular airlines, South Korea too has its share of low-cost, no-frills airlines. While low-cost airlines are obviously the ones that have the cheapest tickets in the market, if you search carefully, even regular airlines, through offers or early booking sell tickets at huge discounts. The primary carriers in South Korea are Korean Air and Asiana Airlines. These are internationally renowned for their service and in fact, Asiana is a member of the privileged Star Alliance. If you are flying into South Korea from another country, then, both Korean Air and Asiana offer several discounts through their agents, online and otherwise. Discounts from them are not limited to cheaper airfare. There are offers that extend to hotel reservations and car rentals and for tourists, even deals with local tour operators.

Domestic air transport in South Korea is not that different from any other country. Given the small area, and fewer airports to cover, there are only four "low-cost" carriers to choose from. These are, Eastar Jet, Jeju Air, Jin Air and Air Busan. Eastar Jet and Jin Air have their hub at Gimpo International Airport in Seoul, Jeju Air in Jeju International Airport and Air Busan in Busan Airport. These airlines primarily operate between their hubs and other major cities. Being relatively new, they currently dominate only a few routes and other cities are best served by Korean Air. International connectivity of these airlines is limited to tourist destinations in South East Asia and other international hubs in the region; Bangkok and Hong Kong.

Availing cheap air tickets on any Korean airline is best done through their respective websites or through air ticket auctions. Prices of tickets on all airlines tend to sky rocket as the departure date approaches. If you are booking in advance and are looking for the cheapest possible airfare then it is best to opt for the low cost airlines. As the date approaches, prices are almost similar and it would be better to fly in regular airlines for better comfort and extra in-flight services.

Cheap airfare for international travel to and from South Korea depends on the destination. If you are a tourist and on a budget to countries in South-East Asia, such as Thailand or the Philippines, then opt for either Jin Air or Jeju Air which fly regularly for thrift-store prices. For long haul travel, especially to Europe, best go for Korean Air. While other international airlines fly to Korea, they are best suited for flying in rather than out. Asiana Airlines is better known for in-flight services but is slightly higher priced than Korean Air.

Cheap air travel in Korea is abundant if you know exactly where to look and follow a few simple steps. Booking early and preferably online is the best option and with regular carriers, trying out hotel deals would keep your travel extremely economical!
