Last minute flight South Korea

Last Minute

Cancelations, delays and the like, though unlikely, are all foreseeable problems when one is traveling, either as a tourist or for pleasure or even on business. Things like these are especially frustrating and angering when you have appointments or meetings to attend or perhaps catch a connecting flight or train. Thankfully, alternatives will usually be available but the catch would be the higher price you will have to pay for the same ticket.

Major airlines in Korea usually refund your full ticket price if the flight is canceled due to a technical fault and they cannot put you on a later flight. If your further schedule permits you to be delayed, then best stick with the current airline before hastily buying another ticket. However, if you absolutely cannot be delayed, then it would be in your best interest to shell out, what will usually be a rather large amount for a last minute flight.

Availing tickets on last minute flights is more often than not very expensive. You might have to pay the full fare of the ticket with no discounts or offers. This is true even on low cost airlines such as Jin Air and Air Busan. However, if you need a ticket, best wait at the counter of the airline in the airport; Incheon and Jeju airports have all the counters lined up for either a cancelation if the flight is already full, or if there is nobody else in line, wait for as long as you can. This way, you can negotiate terms as the airline would rather give away a ticket for some amount than let it go waste!

Cancelation due to bad weather, most of the time entitles the passenger to a refund but it doesn't let you go ahead with your plans. It is a wise idea to have a backup while planning your trip itself. For example, train services between the major cities in South Korea are well established. Airports in all the major cities are linked directly to the train stations through buses or other public transport.

Unlike cancelations, flight tickets bought at the last minute will be extremely expensive. In fact, purchasing tickets at a short notice is not allowed through the internet by Korean Air, Asiana Airlines and Air Busan. You will have to contact a ticketing office or handle the transaction over the phone. Even in a situation where you have to urgently buy a ticket, the critical thing is to keep calm and not make any hasty expensive decisions. Being a rather small country, by area, transport between cities by train would take only a little while longer than by air. Rail transport is a very viable alternative to air travel and the best part is that prices remain fairly constant!

If you have to change your travel route due to a cancelation, then look for hotel deals that the airline offers. Regular airlines such as Korean Air and Asiana Airlines have great deals with airport hotels. Avail them for your benefit if you have a layover or a long break between flights.
